The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have claimed LHP CESAR CABRAL on waivers from the Tampa Bay Rays.

CABRAL, 22, has made three relief appearances this spring for the Rays, posting a 4.91 ERA over 3 2/3 innings pitched. The 6-3, 175lb. native of Sabana Grande de Palenque, Dominican Republic was selected by Tampa Bay in the 2010 Rule V Draft from the Boston Red Sox. In 2010 he combined to post a 4-0 record with a 3.63 ERA in 45 appearances between Boston's affiliates in Greenville (A) and Salem (A advanced).

To make room on the 40-man roster the Toronto Blue Jays have placed RHP Dustin McGowan on the 60-day disabled list.
