Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder has been named the National League Player of the Week for the period ending April 10th.

In seven games last week, the left-handed hitting slugger led the Majors with 11 RBI and 21 total bases while batting .440 (11-for-25). Fielder clubbed two homers and four doubles during the week, tied for second among National Leaguers in both categories, while slugging .840 with a .500 on-base percentage. His 11 hits were also tied for third-most in the Majors. On April 6th, the 26-year-old went 3-for-4 with three RBI, leading the Brew Crew to a 5-4 win over visiting Atlanta. On April 9th, Fielder tied the franchise record for doubles in a game with three (done 33 times previously), while going 3-for-4 with four RBI in a 6-0 win over the Cubs. Fielder collected three hits in a game for the third time this week on Sunday, April 10th, once again going 3-for-4 while adding a home run and two RBI as the Brewers defeated the Cubs, 6-5, in the rubber match of a three-game set. The former first round selection is just six home runs shy of the 200-homer plateau with 194, which ranks fifth on the Brewers' all-time franchise home run list.

Other noteworthy performances included Fielder's Milwaukee teammates, closer John Axford (0.00, 3 SV) and left-hander Chris Narveson (1-0, 0.00, 13.0 IP, 14 SO); Diamondbacks utilityman Willie Bloomquist (.391, 9 H, 7 R, 5 RBI); Padres catcher Nick Hundley (.429, 2 HR, .929 SLG, .500 OBP) and starting pitcher Aaron Harang (2-0, 1.50, 8 SO, 12.0 IP); Dodger outfielder Matt Kemp (.450, .500 OBP, 9 H, 5 SB); Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips (.455, 10 H, .500 OBP); Phillies third baseman Placido Polanco (.308, 8 H, 8 RBI); Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki (.300, 3 HR, .850 SLG, 6 RBI), starter Jhoulys Chacin (2-0, 2.77, 7 SO, 13.0 IP) and closer Huston Street (0.00, 3 SV, 7 SO, 6.0 IP); and Giants ace Tim Lincecum (1-0, 1.29, 13 SO, 7.0 IP).
