Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder has been voted the Budweiser Presents National League Player of the Month for June. Budweiser, the official beer sponsor of Major League Baseball and sponsor for 24 of 30 MLB clubs, is also the presenting sponsor of the National League and American League Player of the Month Awards.

In 27 June games, the fan-elected starting first baseman for the 2011 National League All-Star team hit .337 (28-for-83) and had a Major League-leading 27 RBI while tying for the lead in home runs with 10. Fielder's .491 on-base percentage and 25 walks were tops among National Leaguers while his .747 slugging percentage and 19 runs scored both ranked third. His 70 total bases and 17 extra-base hits were both tied for fourth in the league. The left-handed-hitting slugger earned his second N.L. Player of the Week award for June the week of 6th-12th (having won previously for April 4th-10th), after hitting .500 (10-for-20) and leading the Majors with six homers, a 1.500 slugging percentage, a .643 on-base percentage and 30 total bases while driving in 13 over a seven-game span. His 2-for-3 performance on July 12th, which included a go-ahead, 440-foot blast in the sixth inning off, helped the Brewers earn a 4-3 win and a key three-game sweep of the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals. On June 24th, Fielder's two-run double in the bottom of the seventh proved to be the game-winner as the Brewers edged the Twins, 4-3, in the second game of their three-game Interleague series at Miller Park. Fielder, who was Milwaukee's first-round selection (seventh overall) in the 2002 First-Year Player Draft, had two four-RBI performances (July 6th at the Florida Marlins and July 8th vs. the New York Mets) and seven multi-hit games in the month of June. His 69 RBI are an N.L.-best this season, while his 21 homers rank third. This is his second career monthly award, having won previously for May 2007.

Other players receiving votes were 2011 National League All-Stars Matt Kemp (.375, 9 HR, 23 RBI, .747 SLG, .472 OBP, 8 SB, 18 R) of the Los Angeles Dodgers; Jose Reyes (.385, 11 SB, 13 R, 5 2B, 7 3B, .425 OBP) of the New York Mets; and Brian McCann (.342, 8 HR, 18 RBI, 13 R, .435 OBP) of the Atlanta Braves. Also receiving consideration was Atlanta's Freddie Freeman (.287, 4 HR, 17 RBI); Carlos Peña (.229, 10 HR, 20 RBI, 17 R) of the Chicago Cubs; and Washington's Mike Morse (.299, 8 HR, 22 RBI, 9 2B, 32 H).

The Budweiser Presents National League Player of the Month, Prince Fielder, will receive a specially designed trophy, suitably engraved, in recognition of his accomplishment.
