Hall making a case for All-Star inclusion

Devil Rays catcher getting it done at the plate as well as behind

Toby Hall continues to stand out as the most likely candidate on the Devil Rays to join the American League roster for this year's All-Star Game in Detroit.

Hall entered Tuesday's action hitting .313 with four home runs and 13 RBIs, and his bat work has been matched by excellent defensive play behind the plate.

However, other Rays players could sneak into the picture, depending on what American League manager Terry Francona needs to fill out his roster.

Rookie outfielder Damon Hollins (.322, six homers, 18 RBIs) has been the team's feel-good story of the year, having joined the team as a 30-year-old rookie and proceeding to flourish. Outfielder Alex Sanchez (.349, two homers, 12 RBIs) has also put up strong numbers.

A late run by left-fielder Carl Crawford (.277, five homers, 32 RBIs) could paint him into the All-Star picture as well.
