Opportunity abounds for Giants in Draft
San Francisco has six of the first 51 selections

"There's an abundant amount of high school talent out there -- a little more than in the past," Evans said.Last Three Top Picks:
2006: Lincecum: The No. 10 overall selection already has begun to shine in the Majors, catapulting delivery and all, with his electrifying fastball/curveball combination. 2005: OF Ben Copeland, University of Pittsburgh: Because of the Giants' loss of numerous selections stemming from free-agent signings, Copeland was only a fourth-round pick. He's currently with Class A San Jose. 2004: OF Eddy Martinez-Esteve, Florida State University: Shoulder and foot injuries have slowed Martinez-Esteve's progress. Regarded as the Giants' top hitting prospect, he has yet to crack .300 at Double-A Connecticut.

Rising Fast: Shortstop Brian Bocock, who began the season with low-Class A Augusta, has risen to San Jose. Bocock complements his robust offense with sound defensive fundamentals.
Cinderella Story: Right-hander Adam Cowart, a 35th-round selection last year from Kansas State, finished the season 10-1 with a 1.08 ERA for Rookie-league Salem-Keizer. This season, Cowart has remained dominant at Class A Augusta, where he has maintained superb control despite an unorthodox delivery. In the Show: Lincecum, left-hander Jonathan Sanchez (2004), infielder Kevin Frandsen (2004).
