Hamilton keeps hot bat going vs. Padres

Slugger hits two-run triple to put Rangers ahead for good

Padres at the plate: Tadahito Iguchi, Kevin Kouzmanoff and Michael Barrett each had singles. Paul McAnulty had a double to left-center field that bounced over the fence. Jody Gerut had two hits, including a double that drove in McAnulty in the eighth inning. Scott Hairston was hit by a pitch and added a stolen base. Hairston made two nice diving catches in center field as well.

Rangers at the plate: Josh Hamilton put the Rangers on top with a two-run triple in the sixth inning. Hamilton has knocked in 10 runs this spring. Teammate Hank Blalock drove in another run in the inning as two San Diego errors prolonged the inning. Nate Gold slugged a home run in the eighth inning off Trevor Hoffman.

Padres on the mound: Justin Germano, making his final appearance before going to China on Tuesday with teammates to play two games against the Dodgers, yielded two hits over four scoreless innings. Veteran Shawn Estes was hit by a line drive in the sixth inning and committed a throwing error on the play that led in part to a three-run inning. He remained in the game, allowing one earned run in 2 2/3 innings.

Rangers on the mound: Only one Rangers pitcher -- Matt Harrison -- threw more than one inning. Jamie Wright, Eddie Guardado, Jason Davis, Wes Littleton, Franklyn German each threw one scoreless inning. Kameron Loe was dinged for a run when his wild pitch allowed a run to score in the third inning.

Cactus League records: Padres 7-4, Rangers 6-6
