The Dykstras joined a growing list of fathers and sons with ties to the Major Leagues and Milwaukee's draft list. Two sons of Major Leaguers are currently with Milwaukee. Current first baseman Prince Fielder, Milwaukee's first-round selection in 2002 and the son of former All-Star slugger Cecil Fielder. Later in the '02 Draft, the Brewers took right-hander Tim Dillard, son of former big league infielder Steve, in the 34th round. The following season, the Brewers took Tony Gwynn, Jr. in the second round. The younger Gwynn began this season with the Brewers but is currently playing at Triple-A Nashville. In 2005, the Brewers used a seventh-round pick on outfielder Michael Brantley, son of former Mariners outfielder Mickey. They selected infielder Joey Paciorek in the 15th round in 2007, son of onetime Brewers utility man Jim. The Brewers also signed Ned Yost IV as an undrafted free agent in 2005. He's the son of the current Brewers manager, and earlier this year began a career in the organization as a coach. "[My dad] didn't want me to play baseball just because he did," Cutter Dykstra told MLB.com last month. "He didn't want me to feel pressure into playing it. He wanted me to come to love the game and it worked out perfectly because that is exactly what happened."
