Morneau unsure about Home Run Derby
Twins' first baseman feels last year's event altered swing

After learning of his selection to the 2008 All-Star Game on Sunday, Morneau said he had not been contacted yet by Major League Baseball about possibly taking part in the event."It's not something that I'm hoping to do," said Morneau, who is hitting .307 with 12 home runs so far this season. "Last year going in, I really wanted to do it. This year, if they want somebody else to do it that would be great." Morneau expressed some concern in the second half of last season that trying to hit the home runs in the event may have altered his "natural" swing. The first baseman batted .295 with 24 homers before the All-Star Break last season, but had just seven home runs in the second half and watched his slugging percentage fall below .400. But the historic nature of the event, being in that it's the last time the game will be played at Yankee Stadium, has Morneau considering taking part -- if he's asked. "If they ask me to, it would be tough to say no because of it being in New York," Morneau said. "The whole situation would be pretty cool. But at the same time, I'd like to be able to sit there and watch Josh Hamilton hit balls into the upper deck, too."
