BeachBoys tee off in win over Honu
Thomas, Kieschnick strengthen Waikiki's hold on first place

McOwen (Mariners) and Thomas (Cubs) went back-to-back in the second inning. Thomas singled in the third and seventh for his third straight multi-hit game. The 22-year-old infield prospect is 7-for-14 with two homers and four runs scored over his last three games.
Thomas was a Florida State League All-Star in 2008 after hitting .266 with seven homers, 22 stolen bases and 30 doubles for the Class A Advanced Daytona Cubs.
Kieschnick (Giants) smacked his fourth homer of the season well and singled to raise his average to .274. The 21-year-old outfielder was San Francisco's third-round pick this year out of Texas Tech. He hit .322 with 39 home runs and 156 RBIs in three seasons with the Red Raiders.
Buster Posey (Giants) hit an RBI single in the fifth to extend his hitting streak to 12 games to put his league-best batting average at .451 and Alfredo Silverio (Dodgers) added two hits for Waikiki (16-12).
Mitsuo Yoshokawa (3-1) allowed five runs on eight hits while striking out six and walking one over four innings for the win. Dodgers farmhand Jordan Pratt struck out four over three shutout innings, and Cubs' Minor Leaguer Jeremy Papelbon tossed a perfect ninth for his fifth save.
Yasutaka Hattori (3-2) gave up seven runs -- five earned -- on eight hits and one walk with one strikeout over 2 1/3 innings.
Jason Castro (Astros) went 3-for-5, Kyle Martin (Royals) drove in two runs and Ryan Kalish (Red Sox) had two hits for the Honu (12-16).
