Nats decline to offer pair arbitration

Team still has interest in return of both Boone and Perez

All Major League clubs had to decide by 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday whether to offer their free agents arbitration.

In the case of the Nationals, they decided not to offer infielder Aaron Boone and left-hander Odalis Perez arbitration because they are not considered Type A or B free agents.

However, the Nationals have interest in having both players back for next year, but they are going to see how the free-agent market plays out before making any moves on the players.

Perez pitched in 30 games this past season and went 7-12 with a 4.34 ERA, while Boone hit .241 with six home runs and 28 RBIs off the bench.
