MLB, 'G-Force' team for All-Star giveaway

First million to enter get free movie tix if grand slam is hit

Major League Baseball and "G-FORCE," a 3-D comedy adventure from Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films, are teaming up to give away one million free tickets to see the new motion picture during its opening day on July 24.

If a grand slam is hit during the All-Star Game in St. Louis on July 14, the first one million people who have entered on Disney.com will win a free ticket to see "G-FORCE." The film revolves around the latest evolution of a covert government program to train animals to work in espionage and, armed with the latest high-tech spy equipment, a group of highly trained guinea pigs who "discover that the fate of the world is in their paws," according to the press release.

The program marks the most comprehensive promotional sponsorship of MLB by a major motion picture, and "G-FORCE" is the first movie promoting its debut during the All-Star Game since Disney's "Angels in the Outfield" in 1994.

While grand slams are normally a rare feat in baseball, 18 have already been hit this season.

"By teaming the most significant sporting event of the summer with the most anticipated family movie of the summer, we hope to give fans a little something more to cheer for when they tune in to the All-Star Game," Tim Brosnan, MLB executive vice president of business, said in the release.

Said producer Bruckheimer: "We think that 'G-FORCE' hits a grand slam with comedy, adventure and innovative 3-D, and we're excited to share the fun with audiences of all ages."

The first one million people who enter online at Disney.com between April 22 and midnight PT on July 14 will receive a code redeemable for one free ticket to the movie on its opening day at participating theaters if a grand slam is hit during the Midsummer Classic. Additionally, the 46,000-plus attendees at the game at Busch Stadium will also receive a promotional card with a ticket code redeemable for a free ticket on opening day if a grand slam is hit.

As the exclusive sponsor for in-stadium All-Star balloting, "G-FORCE" will appear on more than 20 million ballots distributed at the 30 MLB stadiums, more than 100 Minor League ballparks and through in-stadium messaging and announcements.

Prior to the All-Star Game, 29 Major League clubs will host "Walt Disney Pictures 'G-FORCE' Days," including "G-FORCE"-themed trading-card and movie ticket/prize-pack giveaways during games.
