Phils activate Condrey, cut Walker

Reliever had been on disabled list with oblique strain

MIAMI -- The Phillies activated right-hander Clay Condrey from the 15-day disabled list on Friday and designated right-hander Tyler Walker for assignment in order to make room on the 25-man roster.

Condrey had been on the DL since June 23 -- retroactive to June 19 -- with a left oblique strain. In 33 games out of the bullpen this season, the 33-year-old is 4-2 with a 3.71 ERA. In six seasons in the big leagues, Condrey's ERA stands at a collective 4.23.

Walker, 33, had given up just two runs in 11 innings spanning nine appearances for Philadelphia this season -- a 1.64 ERA. He also pitched in 15 games for Triple-A Lehigh Valley, going 2-1 with a 1.40 ERA. Throughout his seven-year career, Walker owns a 4.39 ERA.
