Garland available after clearing waivers
D-backs hurler reportedly eligible to be traded to any team

FoxSports.com, citing three Major League sources, reported on Thursday that Garland, who has a 3.60 ERA in six starts since the All-Star break, was likely not claimed by another team because he is still owed a minimum of $4 million between remaining salary and a club option buyout on the contract he signed with Arizona as a free agent last offseason.
Garland, 6-11 with a 4.42 ERA, shined for the White Sox in the 2005 postseason, beating the Angels in the AL Championship Series and pitching seven innings in an eventual 14-inning victory in Game 3 of the World Series against the Astros.
The 29-year-old won 18 games for the White Sox in both 2005 and 2006.
