Tidbits: Back in the walk-off business
Teixeira's shot vs. Twins brings back memories of Boone

"I wanted to swing at good pitches," said Teixeira, who went hitless in his first seven at-bats in the series. "I wanted to get a good pitch to drive and hope for good results. And I think staying consistent allows you to succeed even when you haven't had the best game or the best series so far."
Don't expect Yankees starter Andy Pettitte to be daunted by the pressure of the postseason. The veteran lefty has 14 postseason wins and, with Sunday's Game 3 start, Pettitte will surpass Tom Glavine to become the all-time leader in playoff starts. Pettitte is 5-4 with a 3.62 ERA in 12 career regular-season games in the Twins' home dome.

The Twins' 0-2 deficit in this year's ALDS marks the fourth time they have started a series with two losses. In the three previous instances -- the 1969 ALCS, '70 ALCS and 2006 ALDS -- they were swept.
