DODGERS IN INTERLEAGUE PLAY
In addition, the Dodgers and Angels square off in their annual home-and-home series, June 11-13 at Dodger Stadium and June 22-24 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. The Dodgers are 33-41 against the Angels overall, 3-3 last year, 20-17 overall at Dodger Stadium, last swept a three-game home series from the Angels in 2006 and have never swept a series in Anaheim. The Dodgers were 9-9 in Interleague Play last year and are 99-110 overall. Torre, a member of Commissioner Bud Selig's advisory committee to improve the game, said there are no major changes to Interleague Play anticipated. "I talked to the Commissioner and, when you look at it, Interleague Play has drawn people," said Torre. "I know from the Yankees playing the Mets, it sells out every time. We do a good job here on the coast. In Chicago, it's a positive rivalry. Maybe a few of the others are a reach, but you can't have everything perfect." Torre said the only change he suggested would be to cut down the intercity series -- particularly in Los Angeles, but also New York, Chicago and the Bay Area -- from six games a year to three. "We could alternate from one year to the next," he said, "but it really isn't fair when you have teams in the same division playing different teams. Then we play the Angels and they are so good and we play them six times, that's not easy to do."
