Uecker visits Brewers broadcast booth
By Rhett Bollinger / MLB.com
Uecker, who underwent major heart surgery on April 30, said he was "getting better" and "feeling stronger" and that he hoped to be back in the broadcast booth by "next week sometime."
Uecker, though, was his usual self and was all laughs during his return to the booth alongside Cory Provus and Dave Nelson, but also took time to thank fans for all of the get-well wishes he received after undergoing a six-hour procedure to replace his aortic valve, aortic root and part of his ascending aorta, along with a coronary bypass of one vessel.
"There's a lot of mail and a lot of nice things from a lot of nice people and a lot of great fans," Uecker said. "I'm very much appreciative and especially to those out at Froedtert Hospital. They've really done an unbelievable job."
Uecker, 75, is expected to broadcast only home games upon his return to the broadcast booth.
