Teufel, 52, best known for his role on the 1986 World Series champion Mets, is entering his eighth season as a Minor League manager and first at the Triple-A level. Last year, Teufel led the Double-A Binghamton Mets to a 66-76 record and a fifth-place finish in the Eastern League.
Among the Mets prospects expected to begin this season in Triple-A are right-hander Jenrry Mejia and outfielders Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Lucas Duda.
Wally Backman, who managed Class A Brooklyn last season, is expected to take over Teufel's old job at Binghamton. The Mets have not yet made an official announcement in that regard.
Easler, the organization's newest addition, has served as hitting coach for three different Major League teams throughout his career, most recently working as a Minor League hitting instructor for the Dodgers.
