Joe Curiale and Dolly West, of Humble, Texas, were chosen by Major League Baseball and a panel of celebrity judges to have their wedding at MLB All-Star FanFest on July 12 at the Phoenix Convention Center.
The two fans, who frequent Astros games and met in Texas while beginning their careers as flight attendants, were selected from a group of other couples after submitting a video explaining why they should be chosen to be married at FanFest.
On their flight layovers, Curiale and West will often visit MLB ballparks. They've seen more than 20 together.
"Baseball is more than just a game to us," West said in a statement. "It's a way for us to be together."
West is a Rangers fan, while Curiale roots for the Indians.
The couple's winning wedding package includes a ceremony on the Diamond at FanFest, a catered reception, a wedding ring package and roundtrip airfare and tickets to the All-Star Game at Chase Field.
Judges David Tutera (WE's "My Fair Wedding" celebrity wedding planner), Tom Papa (Host of NBC's "The Marriage Ref"), Luis Gonzalez (MLB All-Star Ambassador) and Jenni Croft Badolato (ABC's "The Bachelor") helped select the winning couple.
The wedding, to be planned by Scottsdale-area wedding planner Charlee Geisler of Signature Events, will have a baseball twist.
"We have some tricks up our sleeve for this one," Geisler said in a statement. "We plan to incorporate the All-Star theme into the wedding while still keeping it classy and elegant. It will undoubtedly be one of the most memorable weddings I've planned. I'm very excited to meet Joe and Dolly."
Fans are invited to to watch the first FanFest wedding from the bleachers adjacent to the Diamond. FanFest serves as a five-day launch for MLB All-Star Week, and includes a Hall of Fame exhibit, batting cages, clinics, autograph sessions, memorabilia and more.
