Arizona Fall League to play at Salt River Fields

Prospect circuit to use new complex as sixth venue

Arizona Fall League Director Steve Cobb announced the 2011 organization and staff assignments Tuesday, in addition to one new venue for the league's 20th season.

Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, the new Spring Training home of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies that opened earlier this year, will be the sixth venue of the Arizona Fall League. It will be home to the Salt River Rafters.

The Saguaros, who previously shared Peoria Stadium with the Javelinas, have been reassigned to Surprise Stadium and become the Surprise Saguaros. The Javelinas will remain in Peoria.

The Fall League divisions have been realigned as well, with the addition of a fourth team in the East Valley. The new East Division will be comprised of the Mesa Solar Sox, Salt River Rafters and Scottsdale Scorpions.

The West Division becomes the Peoria Javelinas, Phoenix Desert Dogs and Surprise Saguaros.

The six-team league plays six days a week (Monday-Saturday) in six Cactus League stadiums in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Daily start times are 12:35 p.m. and 6:35 p.m. MST and feature top prospects from every organization in Major League Baseball.
