Blue Jays reacquire Magnuson from A's

The Blue Jays have reacquired right-hander Trystan Magnuson from the A's in exchange for cash considerations, the club announced Friday.

Magnuson, 26, spent three seasons in Toronto's Minor League system before he was traded to Oakland last November. He split this season between the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats and the A's, posting a 6.14 ERA in nine Major League relief appearances. In 30 Triple-A relief appearances, he went 4-2 with five saves and a 2.98 ERA.

The 6-foot-6, 210-pound Magnuson was designated for assignment by Oakland earlier this week. He was originally sent to the A's with right-hander Danny Farquhar in a deal for outfielder Rajai Davis. Both pitchers have since been reacquired by Toronto in the past year.

Magnuson is a Vancouver, British Columbia, native and a former first-round Draft pick in 2007.
