Not only did the Cardinals use a furious rally to make the playoffs and eventually win their 11th World Series by beating the Rangers in seven games last season, the St. Louis organization also won Minor League championships at Class A Quad Cities and rookie-league Johnson City.
The Cardinals' Minor League system ranked fourth overall with a .530 winning percentage (401-355), and Double-A Springfield first baseman Matt Adams was named Texas League Player of the Year. Adams and pitcher Shelby Miller were named the Cardinals' Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Year, respectively
Baseball America, a national trade publication, has been honoring baseball's top organizations since 1982, and this is the first time the Cardinals have won the honor.
