Family Christian Academy Awarded More Than $70,000 by the Baseball Tomorrow Fund
Grant Supported the Construction and Renovation of Regulation Baseball and Softball Fields; Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to Take Place on Saturday, March 17th
The Baseball Tomorrow Fund (BTF) awarded Family Christian Academy, a small private school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a grant in the amount of $70,305 to provide funding for the renovation of a softball field and construction of a baseball field on the school's campus. The construction and renovation of the fields will provide the school with regulation fields that will help to serve the school teams, facilitate the growth of a newly created fall high school program and provide additional fields for use by local community and travel teams. The new fields will serve 345 boys and girls in the Baton Rouge community.
To celebrate the completion of the renovation, the school will host a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1:45 p.m. local time on Saturday, March 17th. Family Christian Academy Founder Reverend Jimmy Swaggart; Family Christian Academy Principal Dave Smith; Director of Sports Outreach for Istrouma Baptist Church M.L. Woodruff; Family Christian Academy Head Baseball Coach Robin Herd; and Baseball Tomorrow Fund Executive Director Cathy Bradley will participate in the festivities.
"The Baseball Tomorrow Fund is honored to provide funding to Family Christian Academy for a new and improved facility dedicated to youth softball and baseball," said Bradley. "The renovation and construction of these fields will undoubtedly allow for enhanced programs and opportunities to engage boys and girls from the greater Baton Rouge community in the game, and we are pleased to be a part of this effort."
"Family Christian Academy is excited to host a ribbon cutting ceremony for our newly renovated and constructed fields," said Herd. "Thanks to a generous grant from the Baseball Tomorrow Fund, we have witnessed a dream become a reality."
