Huge week nets Konerko AL weekly honor

Upon returning from being hit in the face by a pitch, Konerko picked up right where he left off last week. The 36-year-old first baseman hit .583 (14-for-24) with three home runs, 10 RBIs and 10 runs scored in the week. He topped all Major Leaguers in average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage and finished tied for the most hits, RBIs and total bases.
The highlight of Konerko's week came on Sunday, when he notched his 400th homer as a member of the White Sox -- the 407th of his carer -- in helping the South Siders cap a three-game sweep of the AL Central-leading Indians.
Konerko entered Tuesday night's tilt against the Rays in the midst of a 14-game hitting streak, during which he is hitting .540 (27-for-50) with four doubles, five homers and 15 RBIs.
A career .284 hitter, Konerko took a .395 average with 11 home runs and 33 RBIs into Tuesday's game.
