Phillips and the rest of the American Idol Season 11 top 10 finalists are currently on the road for the American Idols Live! Tour 2012. The same day that Phillips claimed his victory in American Idol's Season 11 finale, the 21-year-old singer/guitarist released "Home," a debut single that showcases his rich, raspy vocals and masterful guitar skills - and marked the highest debut on the Billboard Digital songs chart with 278,000 downloads sold. Now, with a Billboard Hot 100 top-ten debut under his belt, the Leesburg, Georgia-bred songwriter is gearing up to record his first album for 19 entertainment/Interscope Records.
Luke Bryan received a 2012 CMT Award for Male Video of the Year for "I Don't Want This Night to End." Bryan's current album "tailgates & tanlines" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and has sold over one million copies to date. The album contains three Platinum-certified digital singles: "Country Girl (Shake It for Me)," "I Don't Want This Night to End," and "Drunk on You" and makes Bryan one of only three country artists to have three consecutive Platinum-selling tracks on their current album.
Kellie Pickler grew up immersed in country. At the age of 19, she gained fame as a contestant on the fifth season of American Idol and in 2006, she signed to 19 Records and BNA Records to release her debut "Small Town Girl," which has gone on to sell over 800,000 copies worldwide and produce three singles, "Red High Heels," "I Wonder," and "Things That Never Cross a Man's Mind." In 2008, Pickler released her self-titled sophomore record featuring country radio hits "Don't You Know You're Beautiful," Best Days of Your Life" (co-written with Taylor Swift and her first Top 10), and "Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You." Having established herself as not only a powerful vocalist but also a songwriter, Pickler released her third album "100 Proof" in January of this year. Pickler co-wrote six of the 11 tracks on the critically acclaimed album.
Prior to the State Farm Home Run Derby, Zac Brown Band will first perform a medley of "America The Beautiful" into "Chicken Fried" that will air on MLB Network to close out MLB Tonight: All-Star Edition at approximately 6:55 p.m. Central (7:55 p.m. Eastern). That will be followed by their single "The Wind" off of their new album 'Uncaged' that will air on ESPN prior to the start of the State Farm Home Run Derby. Zac Brown Band, winners of two GRAMMY Awards, is currently readying the release of their new album "Uncaged" on July 10 (Atlantic/Southern Ground Artists). Zac Brown Band has earned a historic series of nine consecutive No. 1 hit singles and both a double-platinum major label debut "The Foundation" (Atlantic Records/Home Grown/Big Picture) - one of Billboard's Top 20 albums of 2009 - and platinum No. 1 follow up "You Get What You Give" (Atlantic/Southern Ground Artists). Since 2009, the band has garnered over 50 GRAMMY, ACM, AMA, CMA and CMT award nominations.
American Idol winner and Missouri native David Cook will perform the National Anthem prior to the State Farm Home Run Derby on July 9th. Cook, a native of Blue Springs, Missouri, was the Season 7 winner of American Idol. His debut album, David Cook, sold over 1 million copies and entered the Billboard charts at No. 3 and the Digital charts at No. 1, making it the best debut from an American Idol winner since 2006. Cook's coronation single "The Time of My Life" was certified platinum and is not only the biggest single debut, but the highest selling coronation single in the show's history. His sophomore album, This Loud Morning, was released in 2011 and was a Billboard Top 10 debut. Most recently, David returned to the American Idol stage to debut a new single, "The Last Song I'll Write for You" which reached No. 2 on the iTunes digital charts.
