Brazil takes on Panama for final spot in 2013 World Baseball Classic

The last spot in the 2013 World Baseball Classic will be decided tonight when an undefeated Team Brazil (2-0) managed by Hall of Famer Barry Larkin takes on Panama (2-1) at 8 pm ET at Rod Carew National Stadium in Panama City, Panama. Team Panama is managed by San Francisco Giants first base coach Roberto Kelly, who is trying to lead his team back to the World Baseball Classic, in which Panama participated in both 2006 and 2009.
For fans in the United States and Puerto Rico, MLB Network will air the final Qualifier game from the Panama City, Panama pool on Monday, November 19 live at 8 pm ET. The game is also available live at no charge on WorldBaseballClassic.com.
Team Panama features current and former Major Leaguers Manny Acosta, Manuel Corpas, Carlos Lee, Ramiro Mendoza, Ruben Rivera, Carlos Ruiz and Ruben Tejada. Team Brazil includes Cleveland Indians catcher Yan Gomes, the first Brazilian Major Leaguer.
Canada, Chinese Taipei and Spain have already emerged from the Qualifiers' field of 16 teams to earn spots in the March 2013 event. Tonight's winner and the previously qualifying teams will join the 12 countries - Australia, China, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Puerto Rico, United States and Venezuela - that received automatic invitations based on their performance in the 2009 tournament. MLB Network will exclusively air all 39 games of the 2013 World Baseball Classic in the United States from March 2nd-19th.
