Nats' Solano drills two homers in Licey's win

Nationals catcher Jhonatan Solano went deep twice, hitting a solo shot in the sixth inning and a two-run jack in the ninth to pad Licey's lead. Solano finished 3-for-5 and scored three times. Engel Beltre (Rangers) also launched a two-run shot in the fourth. Yohan Flande (Braves) scattered two hits and two walks over 3 2/3 innings in the shutout, while Maikel Cleto (Cardinals) threw 2 1/3 perfect frames in relief for the victory. Box score

Francisco Pena (Mets) homered and Juan Carlos Perez went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI to lead Cibaenas. Top Cardinals prospect Oscar Taveras drove in a run and scored once in the win. Jose Ramirez (Indians) paced Este in the loss, going 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs out of the leadoff spot. Box score

Pirates outfielder Starling Marte continued a strong Dominican campaign, going 2-for-5 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored while Ramon Santiago (Tigers) added two hits and a pair of RBIs for Escogido.
