Yankees Minor Leaguer Baker Suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that New York Yankees Minor League catcher Ryan Baker has received a 50-game suspension without pay for refusing to take an off-season drug test, a violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The suspension of Baker, who is currently on the roster of the Single-A Charleston RiverDogs of the South Atlantic League, will be effective at the start of the 2014 season.
