New York Yankees All-Star CC Sabathia served as Executive Producer on this week's episode of "Off the Bat from the MLB Fan Cave," airing Tuesday night on MTV2 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT, as he joined series hosts Sway, Fat Joe, Chris Distefano and Melanie Iglesias at the MLB Fan Cave in New York City.
As Executive Producer, Sabathia worked with MTV to help put together some of the creative concepts for the episode based on his interests and background. In one segment, Sabathia takes to the streets to see if any New Yorkers know what the "CC" in his name stands for. In another segment, Sabathia's fellow Bay Area native, Sway, gets to live out his boyhood dream by working out with his beloved Oakland A's during Spring Training. In addition, Sway interviews Sabathia - who also grew up an Oakland A's fan - discussing Bay Area hip hop music among other topics.
In addition, with the Cubs in town this week to play Sabathia's Yankees, this week's episode will feature a segment with Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo in which Rizzo and Distefano celebrate their shared Italian heritage by taking batting practice with meatballs. Previous episodes have featured David Ortiz - the series Executive Producer - as well as in-studio guests Bryce Harper and Adam Jones. Clips and full episodes can be seen here.
