Scouting Report: Phillies: Phillies right-hander Pedro Martinez gets a chance to add to his legend at Yankee Stadium in Game 6 of the World Series. Martinez allowed three runs in six innings in a 3-1 loss to the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium in Game 2. He will be pitching on five days' rest, while Yankees left-hander Andy Pettitte will be pitching on three days' rest. That could be an advantage for Martinez, although he knows there are few easy outs in the Yankees lineup. But Martinez, who called himself the most influential player in Yankee Stadium history, certainly is not going to shy away from the situation.
Yankees: While Pettitte is expected to make the start, Yankees manager Joe Girardi said after the Game 5 loss that nothing has been officially decided. "Physically I've got to see how he is," Girardi said. "He threw a side [Monday] and felt good. But I'll check with him [Tuesday]."
