MLB Notebook: Verlander and Weaver, great at 29
Justin Verlander and Jered Weaver have each put up phenomenal numbers through age-29 seasons. Since 1920, 370 pitchers have thrown at least 700 innings and, among that 370, Verlander and Weaver are in the top 25 in WHIP, winning percentage, strikeout to walk ratio, lowest hits per nine and ERA+.
