The Royals completed their first sweep in their last 79 series as they beat the Yankees on Thursday night. Matt Stairs and Terrence Long hit back-to-back home runs and the Royals' Ambiorix Burgos managed to escape from a bases-loaded jam in the ninth inning to preserve the win for Kansas City.
