Coco sweetens Tribe's chase

C.J. Wilson's afternoon ended quickly as the lefty found trouble in the third and could not escape in the Rangers' defeat. Mark Teixeira plated two runs for Texas, while right-hander John Wasdin gave the Rangers another strong outing in long relief. Justin Thompson made his first big-league appearance since 1999, pitching the eighth inning.

Indians inch way upward By Justice B. Hill / MLB.com
A four-run third helped the Indians get past the Rangers to earn a series win. Coco Crisp drove in a pair and scored twice, and Travis Hafner added a couple of RBIs and runs scored for the Tribe, which picked up a half-game on idle Oakland in the AL Wild Card race. Jake Westbrook earned the victory.
