Philly widens Wild Card gap
Phils lose Lidle, win series
Cory Lidle helped himself with an RBI single, but left with a strained oblique muscle in the fifth. However, the Phils collected 14 hits, led by Bobby Abreu's three-hit, two-RBI night, to take the series and now lead the NL Wild Card race by 1 1/2 games over the Astros.

Series at a glance:
Bats quiet down stretch
Seeking his first victory of the month, Brad Hennessey wouldn't get it on this night as he gave up five runs on 10 hits in five innings. Ray Durham drove in two, Edgardo Alfonzo added a sacrifice fly and Mike Matheny scored on a wild pitch, but the Giants were held scoreless for the final six innings.
