Jose Valverde proved no match for the resilient Mets on Monday, as the suddenly struggling closer allowed two runs in the ninth for his second straight blown save. Chad Tracy was nearly the hero, blasting a go-ahead three-run homer in the seventh. Eric Byrnes homered twice off Steve Trachsel.

Wright caps comeback By Kit Stier / Special to MLB.com
David Wright played hero for the Mets again on Monday, delivering a soaring walk-off single in the ninth to cap a two-run comeback in the ninth. The Mets, who got homers from Jose Valentin and Cliff Floyd, were able to overcome a three-run homer by Chad Tracy surrendered by Adam Heilman.
