Yanks take the opener

Jaret Wright picked up his fifth win of the year by dominating the Devil Rays for six innings, allowing no runs while striking out 10. The only run of the game came in the fourth on Bernie Williams' RBI single off Jae Seo.

Jae Seo threw well on Friday night, but his counterpart, Jaret Wright, was just a tad better. The Devil Rays had four hits compared to the Yankees' three, but the lone New York run in the fourth held up as Tampa Bay fell in the opener.
