Rookie Jason Windsor gave up two runs in the first and two more in the third, an inning he didn't complete as the A's fell to the Red Sox. Frank Thomas had two hits and three RBIs to lead Oakland's attack, and Mark Kotsay and Jason Kendall each had three hits.
