The Angels split their two-game series with the Rangers in a fracas-filled affair. Despite claims before the game that they would not retaliate for Angels batters hit in Tuesday's game, the Halos did just that Wednesday in a loss. Rookie Joe Saunders wasn't around for the ninth-inning brawl, having gotten knocked out in the third.
The Rangers scored eight runs in the third inning, capped by a grand slam by rookie outfielder Nelson Cruz in a victory over the Angels. Benches cleared in the ninth inning, capping a contentious two-game series that saw five batters hit with pitchers and several more pitches coming close. Ian Kinsler went 3-for-4 for the Rangers.
