Rangers' deuce bests A's pair
DeRosa's homer does it
Mark DeRosa clubbed a three-run homer to spark a big third inning, and Carlos Lee hit a solo blast in the sixth to carry the Rangers to a second straight win in Oakland. Adam Eaton went into the sixth before five relievers combined to help Texas pull within eight games of the A's.

Series at a glance:
A's can't reel in Rangers
Nick Swisher's 29th homer -- a solo blast in the fifth -- and Frank Thomas' 31st long ball -- a three-run job in the sixth -- were nearly enough to help the A's scale an early deficit. After an unbeaten August, Kirk Saarloos' first start of September was over after three.
