Yet another winning hand
Cards head home even
Though a pair of wins in Detroit would have been ideal, the Cardinals travel back to St. Louis having split the first two games of the Series. Jeff Weaver turned in a gritty outing on the mound, but was burned by a pair of first-inning runs. The Cards mustered only two hits against Kenny Rogers, and a late rally ended with the bases loaded.

Rogers' heat fuels Tigers
Kenny Rogers continued to dominate in the postseason, upping his scoreless innings streak to a staggering 23 straight as the Tigers clawed back to even in the Series. Craig Monroe ripped his fifth homer of the playoffs in the first inning, and Carlos Guillen and Sean Casey added RBIs to carry Detroit at the plate.
