Reign on the horizon
Tigers toss one away
After building a 3-0 lead, the Tigers battled bad luck and shaky fielding to creep within one loss of elimination against the Cardinals. Sean Casey homered and drove in another run on a single, but Curtis Granderson's misstep in center field and Fernando Rodney's throwing error allowed St. Louis to pull out the Game 4 win.

Cards close in on crown
The Cardinals are fast taking on the look of a world championship team as they rallied to edge the Tigers for a 3-1 Series lead. Preston Wilson came through with a clutch RBI single in the seventh inning and David Eckstein delivered a go-ahead run-scoring double in the eighth to put St. Louis on the brink of a World Series title.
