Frank Catalanotto's solo homer was all Texas could muster off Boston starter Curt Schilling, but the Rangers built a threat in the eighth off the Sox bullpen. Gerald Laird scored on Nelson Cruz's hard-hit fielder's choice, but closer Jonathan Papelbon came in for a dominant five-out save.
