Seven Baltimore pitchers combined for 11 shutout innings, but Kurt Birkins gave up four runs in the 12th as the Orioles lost to the Tigers. O's starter Adam Loewen tossed five solid frames, while center fielder Corey Patterson collected a pair of hits.
