O's pull away early
Duckworth struggles in loss
Brandon Duckworth had trouble with his command early on against Baltimore, but he battled to keep the Royals in the game over the course of five-plus innings in the loss. Emil Brown had the lone RBI for Kansas City, while Reggie Sanders had a good night, going 3-for-4 with three singles.

Markakis goes deep late
Aubrey Huff hit a two-run double in the first inning, which was first called a home run. The extra run didn't matter as Baltimore cruised to the win after that behind six strong innings from Erik Bedard. Nick Markakis tacked on his first career grand slam in the eighth.
