Mike Lowell hit a fifth-inning solo homer, Doug Mirabelli followed with one in the sixth and David Ortiz hit another in the seventh to pace the Boston offense. Tim Wakefield was outstanding again, allowing four hits over seven innings for the victory.
Starter Tomo Ohka gave up only four hits, but three of them were home runs, allowing four runs in 6 1/3 innings. Toronto struggled with Tim Wakefield's knuckler, as John McDonald drove in the Jays' only run with a single in the seventh inning.
