Right-hander Derek Lowe allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits in 4 2/3 innings in the Dodgers' loss. L.A. got nine hits, but only one extra-base hit in hitter-friendly Coors Field. Brady Clark singled in one run, and Lowe knocked in the other with a sacrifice fly.

Colorado loses Lopez By Thomas Harding / MLB.com
The Rockies topped division leader Los Angeles, but the news was not all good. Rodrigo Lopez, who had his turn pushed back because of elbow stiffness, suffered the same ailment and left after four innings. Taylor Buchholz earned the win in relief.
