After being held down through three innings, the A's batted around in the fourth, highlighted by Nick Swisher's two-run homer, one of two on the day. Dan Haren continued his recent roll with seven fantastic innings, and the bullpen staved off a furious Orioles charge to earn a narrow victory.
Erik Bedard looked to be in control after three no-hit innings, but the A's put up a five-run fourth inning that proved too much for the Orioles to overcome despite a big rally. Brian Roberts and Aubrey Huff homered, but Miguel Tejada grounded out with the bases loaded to end the game.
