Athletics 5, Red Sox 4
Curt Schilling went seven innings, fanning seven and walking none. (Elise Amendola/AP)
 Crisp's diving catch
 Lowell knocks in two
With the game seemingly in hand thanks to the combined efforts of Curt Schilling and Hideki Okajima, the Sox handed the ball to closer Jonathan Papelbon, who gave up a game-tying homer to Oakland's Travis Buck. The A's went ahead in the top of ninth to take the series opener.
