Outfielder Hideki Matsui doubled in Derek Jeter in the eighth inning to give the Yankees the victory in Game 1 of a scheduled doubleheader in Texas. Closer Mariano Rivera earned his second save of the season; starter Andy Pettitte was strong for six innings.
