Damion Easley launched a go-ahead three-run homer off Jose Valverde in the top of the ninth inning, and David Wright followed later with a three-run shot of his own as the Mets came from behind for a dramatic victory. Aaron Heilman picked up the win in relief.

Jose Valverde was unable to recover following Tony Clark's one-out error in the ninth inning, eventually giving up a game-deciding three-run homer to Damion Easley in a series-opening loss to the Mets. Arizona got home runs from Chris Snyder and Orlando Hudson in its 11th straight home loss to the Mets.
