The Mariners were nearly no-hit on Saturday, and on Sunday, they looked no better at the plate. Jarrod Washburn limited the Yankees to three runs in 5 1/3 innings, but his effort was spoiled, as Seattle collected only four hits, two by Jose Vidro. Raul Ibanez lost two fly balls in the sun in left field, dropping both, though neither was ruled an error. Jose Guillen went hitless with two strikeouts in four at-bats. Benches cleared in the seventh inning following a brushback pitch by Scott Proctor.
